From a site near Foxton, Leicestershire, named after one of LHAP's helpers, Michael Callaghan. This is a most striking apple; possibly a long lost variety; perhaps a unique seedling.

The apples are very large, tart and juicy, and probably dual purpose. They mellow to pleasant eating apples of spectacular appearance in mid October. The eye is open, large and very deep.
