This clone has been discovered by user Lory of "Fruttama forum".
It appears to be a hybrid between Mexican and West Indian Races. It seems particularly well suited to calcareous soils.
Cold hardiness unknown as today (Summer 2019).
Description du fruit
Fruit are huge, averaging 700gr. They are particularly oily/nutty. They ripen in 6 months from flowering in a tropical climate. Seeds doesn't adhere to fruit.
Goût
Rich, oily, nutty flavour.
Usage culinaire
As any other avocado.
Avantages
Good lime resistance. Huge incredibly tasty fruits which ripen early.
Inconvénients
Hardiness unknown.

The plant was a chance seedling which the user Lory discovered in his garden in Philippines, and made an effort to propagate due the outstanding qualities of fruits. The name "Modena" was given from Lory to this clone to remember his home town.

Since it is a chance seedling no nursery (and very few collectors) have this.
Lory explicitly renunced to patents on this plant.
