This variety comes from avocado seedling. Owner of the tree planted seeds from avocados he bought in Zagreb and of five seeds, two germinated. He gave one seedling to his neighbor and he kept one for himself. Neighbor's seedling unfortunately succumbed to frost before ever flowering. Even owner had some problems with frost with his. All problems stopped when his avocado first flowered. Now it has abundance of fruit every year and no problem with frost whatsoever. That being said, they don't have severe frosts in Split (-10°c at most, mostly -5°c). Tree is planted near sea (less than 20m), so that probably helps it to survive.

Grafts can be sent only couple of times a year (4-5 times), when I am in Split, so sometimes it will be necessary to wait.
